Last day in Toronto!

Cross Lake students and teachers enjoyed a relaxing last day in the city doing some last minute shopping at the Easton Centre and checking out the city on their own. Lisa, Monica and Sean drove everyone to the airport at 3pm for their flights. It was a great visit and we are certainly looking forward to next time!

Riding the rocket! First subway and streetcar

We made sure the student took the street car and subway back to the hotel and first for nearly everyone visiting!

A fancy final dinner

Srudents and teachers gathered for a fancy dinner together downtown. It was a nice night talking about all the adventures we’d gone through during this busy week. Sadly, the restaurant provided a lot of salad and flatbread for a higher then expected price for what we received. At least the company was the best!!

We had a lovely fancy dinner together downtown. Unfortunately the restaurant was suppose to give us a great fixed menu and instead gave us salad and flat bread for a very expensive price. Lesson learned, at least the company was amazing! Spin donated a table for us to play ping pong after dinner but we were talking so much we accidentally missed our time and they gave the table away! Oops! We’ll all miss having our Cross Lake friends around. It’s been a busy week!

CN Tower time

After our morning at school we met up with Downsview and Humberside students again to go to the top of the city. Literally, the very top! We all journeyed up in the CN Tower elevator. So fun!

Regent Park School of Music & Kapapamahchakwew - Wandering Spirit School

Thursday morning was a busy one as we were invited to visit Kapapapmahchakwew - Wandering Spirit School. It was a lovely morning touring the First Nations school for elementary and senior students. After the tour we took part in Regent Parks school of music program with the students of wandering spirit learning guitar, drums, keyboard and ukulele! It was fantastic. Big thanks to Ms. Sue for providing us with a mid morning snack!

Roonie plays TFC

That night we went to a TFC game where all of us were delighted to see Roomie play! Another friend from Cross Lake who is studying in Toronto was able to join us. Of course we had a small elevator mishap as three Mikisew students got stuck in the hotel elevator for 45 minutes. Luckily we were leaving early so they didn’t miss any of the game! Sadly it ended with a no score but it was still very fun and exciting!

Niagara Falls!

Students from both Downsview S.S. and Humberside accompanied our guests to Niagara Falls! It was amazing! Upon arrival we had to climb Clifton Hill and take in the sights! We took over IHOP for lunch and then made our way to under the falls! It was so much fun and everyone looked amazing in their ponchos!
